Chair of Governors
Christina Harris
I became a Chair of Governors in December 2020.
I live in Holme Lacy. I have a son and a daughter and 5 grandchildren. One of my grandchildren attends Mordiford CE Primary School and is in year 2.
I have many years of experience working in a Primary School in various roles. I was employed at Holme Lacy Primary School for 30 years. During that time I worked as a classroom assistant working with small groups of children and supporting the teacher in many ways. For 6 years I was employed on a one to one basis working with a child with Special Educational Needs.
For the last 15 years at the school, I was the school administrator. During that time I undertook a considerable amount of training gaining a number of qualifications including a Certificate in School Business Management (CSBM) and a Diploma in School Business Management (DSBM).
I have previously been a Parent Governor for 8 years and an Associate Governor for 4 years.

I have been Rector of Mordiford Parish Church since 2011, and sit on the governing body as a Foundation Governor. I took over the role of Chair in September 2015. I am also one of the three trustees of the land and buildings.
I have five sons and have had plenty of experience as a parent of children at schools. I have also been involved in four church schools over the years, and as a Chartered Surveyor take a strong interest in the school’s accommodation.
I regularly take assemblies at the school and work the RE co-ordinator to help with the delivery of the curriculum and also collective worship.

Staff Governor
Bev Oakley
I am extremely lucky to be a Staff Governor at our school. I began my long relationship with Mordiford C E Primary School as a parent in September 2002 when my daughter started in the Reception Class. I was struck then, how wonderful our school is. I later joined the team as a teacher and have never looked back.
I live locally with my family and feel blessed to have had the opportunity to be part of such a caring, nurturing and hugely successful place. When I am not at school I spend my time enjoying the successes of my own children and the wonderful countryside we live in.
Although I have been teaching since 1992, I am involved with my husbands business, which keeps me in touch with the world outside the ‘Mordiford Bubble’.
